About

Hi, I’m Jill!

International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Infant Sleep Specialist, Fierce Advocate for Kids and Parents

My adult life has been dedicated to challenging the status quo and trying new things when it comes to how best to support children and families. I’ve been a tutor, an early childhood educator, an after-school program director, a teacher, a curriculum consultant, a coach, and the list goes on. However, when I became a parent, my paradigms were flipped – yet again! – as I came to navigate the world of infant care firsthand.

Like many families, I was completely overwhelmed when our daughter was born. Despite my efforts to educate myself while I was pregnant, nothing quite prepares you for the reality of a new baby. We struggled with sleep deprivation, breastfeeding challenges, unsolicited advice, and discerning what was normal and what wasn’t (and how to make things better).

I wanted to find a way support others – to make this time easier for other new parents – so that no one would struggle the way we did.

My Approach

Child-Centered, Holistic, Responsive, Personalized

The greatest gift I received as a new parent was the encouragement to follow my intuition. It is the gift I aim to pass on to every family I work with.

You are the expert on your child.

My approach is to help you tune into your child’s needs. The culture we live in – the one that does not provide any paid leave, paid childcare support, or paid coverage for physical/mental healthcare – conditions us to tune out our instinctive knowing in favor of quick fix solutions, expensive products, and high-tech gadgets.

I am here to help you relearn how to listen and respond.

When a parent is empowered with the knowledge of what is biologically normal and developmentally appropriate for their baby (or child), along with a toolbox of skills, practitioners, and resources, I believe everyone can thrive.

What you can expect:
  • Personalized support attuned to your family’s needs and values
  • Comprehensive investigation of sleep concerns, including feeding issues that may be affecting sleep under the radar of most health professionals
  • Evidence-based recommendations for improving whole-family sleep rooted in evolutionary biology and neuroscience
  • Compassionate and responsive care to your concerns and struggles
  • Encouragement to respond to your baby, day or night
My approach does NOT include:
  • ANY form of separation-based sleep-training (cry-it-out, graduated extinction, etc)
  • A guarantee of your child immediately sleeping through the night (ask me why!)
